Bandon Hill Primary School joins the Trust
Bandon Hill is the latest member of the Greenshaw Learning Trust.
On 1 September 2021, Bandon Hill Primary School opened its doors as the latest member of the Greenshaw Learning Trust. Bandon Hill Primary School is a six form entry split site primary school. The school comprises a two form entry site known as Meadow Field in Wallington, a four form entry site known as Wood Field in Carshalton and Oak Field, a base for children with autism on the Wood Field site.
After consultation with the local communities, the Governing Body of Bandon Hill Primary School agreed that becoming an academy and joining the Greenshaw Learning Trust would best enable the school to continue to thrive in the current educational climate.
Since the start of the year the school has worked with the Greenshaw Learning Trust, the Department for Education, Sutton Council, staff and local communities to prepare the school to become an academy and join the Greenshaw Learning Trust. Bandon Hill Meadow Field, Bandon Hill Wood Field and Bandon Hill Oak Field will be distinct schools within the Trust, continuing to work closely together and benefiting from being a part of the wider Greenshaw Learning Trust.
Will Smith, CEO for the Greenshaw Learning Trust, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Bandon Hill Primary School into our family. The Trust is well-established locally and we look forward to formalising the strong collaborative working relationships to ensure every child fulfils their potential now and in the future.”
Laura Rodger, Headteacher, commented: “We have benefited from working with the Greenshaw Learning Trust already and are excited to take the next step in Bandon Hill School’s journey. We value the opportunity to be part of a larger network to share ideas and ensure our staff and children develop their skills and experience to be the very best they can be.”
