Tweeddale Primary School achieves 'Good' rating in latest Ofsted inspection
Tweeddale Primary School, located in Carshalton, Surrey, has once again been rated as a 'Good' school following an Ofsted inspection which recognised the school’s commitment to providing a high-quality education and fostering a supportive learning environment for its pupils.
The inspection took place on 2nd and 3rd July 2024 and some of the following points were made in the report:
Pupils are safe and cared for and the school is at the heart of the local community. Pupils are happy, enjoy their learning, and are able to develop healthy friendships.
There is strong leadership and management at Tweeddale Primary School and the collaboration between the school and Greenshaw Learning Trust was praised for ensuring effective governance, clear vision, and support in safeguarding and behaviour management.
The school has an ambitious and engaging curriculum designed to build pupils' knowledge and understanding from the early years onwards.
A strong emphasis is placed on inclusivity, particularly in supporting pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and those who speak English as an additional language.
Tweeddale Primary School is committed to fostering a culture of respect and positivity, evident through its ASPIRE values.
There are clear routines and expectations of pupils’ behaviour which result in learning taking place without disruption. During lessons, pupils are attentive and patient.

Inspectors highlighted many strengths across the school, as well as some of the next steps to further improve. I want to congratulate all the staff, including the previous Headteacher, Mrs Jerrom. New Headteacher, Mr Walters, takes over to lead further improvements in this new chapter as the school goes from strength to strength.”
