Plymouth schools join the Greenshaw Learning Trust
On 1 January, Stoke Damerel Community College, Scott Medical and Healthcare College and Montpelier Primary School joined the Trust.
On 1 January 2021, Stoke Damerel Community College, Scott Medical and Healthcare College and Montpelier Primary School, previously schools within the Plymouth-based Inspiring Schools Partnership, became the latest members of the Greenshaw Learning Trust.
Since July 2020, Inspiring Schools Partnership has worked closely with the Greenshaw Learning Trust, Department for Education and the local communities to prepare the three schools to join the Greenshaw Learning Trust. After consultation with the local communities and the governing bodies of all three schools, it was agreed that the Greenshaw Learning Trust had the expertise and capacity to build on the improvement journey of all three schools. The schools already had a strong relationship with the Greenshaw Learning Trust and this was the natural next step to further strengthen and benefit from the partnership.
Will Smith, CEO for the Greenshaw Learning Trust, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Stoke Damerel Community College, Scott Medical and Healthcare College and Montpelier Primary School into our family of schools. We are ambitious for all of our schools and their students and are committed to giving every young person at these schools the opportunity to fulfil their potential now, and in the future.”
As part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust, Stoke Damerel Community College, Scott Medical and Healthcare College and Montpelier Primary School will maintain their ethos and place at the heart of their local communities, whilst benefiting from the efficiencies resulting from being part of a larger multi-academy trust, which will ensure the schools continue to improve and provide the best start in life for all their students.
