Park House School joins the Greenshaw Learning Trust
Park House School has joined the Greenshaw Learning Trust.
Park House School has joined the Greenshaw Learning Trust. Park House School is a co-educational, fully comprehensive school in Newbury, for students aged 11 to 18 years.
Following discussions with the Department of Education (DfE) and the Transform Learning Trust, and consultation with the local community, it was agreed that it would be in the best interests of the school to join the Greenshaw Learning Trust.
Will Smith, CEO of the Greenshaw Learning Trust, said: “We are delighted to welcome Park House School into our family. The Greenshaw Learning Trust has a proven track record of improving schools from a similar starting point as Park House and has the skills and capacity to deliver the necessary improvements at the school.”
Since March 2022, the Greenshaw Learning Trust has worked with the Department for Education, Transform Learning Trust and staff to prepare the school for transfer. The Greenshaw Learning Trust has secured £5 million of funding to improve Park House, including the renovation of school buildings; during the summer holidays work has begun.
A significant milestone in the school’s development is the appointment of a new headteacher, James King. Mr King was the Deputy Headteacher at another GLT school, Holmleigh Park High School in Gloucester. Holmleigh Park has been through a rapid improvement journey and Mr King played an instrumental part in developing the school and achieving significantly improved outcomes for students. Mr King will be in post for the start of the new academic year.
