Hunts Grove recognised for commitment to excellence in latest Ofsted inspection
Hunts Grove Primary Academy in Gloucester celebrates the results of their recent Ofsted inspection which highlight the school's numerous strengths and successes, acknowledging its commitment to providing an outstanding educational experience for its students.
The inspection took place on 19 and 20 March 2024 and the following judgements were made:
- Overall effectiveness: Good
- The quality of education: Good
- Behaviour and attitudes: Good
- Personal development: Good
- Leadership and management: Outstanding
- Early years provision: Good
Inspectors made the following key points in their report:
Exceptional leadership and management: Under the exemplary leadership of Headteacher Glenn Philcox, Hunts Grove Primary Academy has flourished. The school benefits from a clear vision set by Trust leaders and school governors, who actively collaborate to secure a high-quality education for all pupils. Staff's roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and understood, fostering a culture of accountability and professionalism throughout the school community.
Curriculum excellence: The curriculum is meticulously designed to ensure that all pupils receive a well-rounded education. A particular focus is placed on promoting reading, which is at the heart of the curriculum. Students enthusiastically engage with a variety of texts, developing a love for literature that transcends the classroom. Additionally, there is a well-sequenced curriculum in reading, writing, and mathematics, providing students with the essential skills and knowledge needed for success.
Dedicated staff: Staff members report high levels of satisfaction and the school’s commitment to staff development ensures that teachers are equipped with the necessary skills to deliver an effective curriculum. Additionally, strong support is provided for teachers who are new to the profession, fostering a supportive environment for professional growth.
Support for students with SEND: Hunts Grove Primary Academy is committed to providing a caring and inclusive environment for all students. Precise strategies are implemented to ensure that pupils with SEND reach ambitious goals and receive the assistance they require.
