researchEd South West at Gloucester academy

On 27 April, Gloucester Academy opened its doors to over 300 delegates as the host to the inaugural researchEd South West event.

The event was expertly organised by Rhiannon Rainbow, Dr Neil Gilbride and Thomas Henesey.

A well-crafted agenda full of thoughtful and inspiring sessions included keynotes from Dr Haili Hughes on teacher retention and Dr Cat Scutt MBE on professional culture. GLT colleagues Rhiannon Rainbow and Dave Tushingham led a session on ‘making CPD resources work in the classroom’ and Patrick Farmbrough explored how to turn around underperforming schools. These are just a few of the many engaging and insightful talks that took place throughout the day.

There is power in collaborating with educational colleagues from across the UK, honing skills, and investigating new ideas, and we hope that all of what the day provided can be used to benefit the young people in our schools and the lives of teachers and leaders.

Feedback has proved immensely positive, with researchEd already agreeing to a second conference in 2025.
