Five Acres High School and the Forest of Dean Community Hospital

On Friday 7 June, members of Five Acres High School's Art Leadership Team were invited to the official opening of the new community hospital in Cinderford.

Ahead of the opening, students from primary and secondary schools in the Forest of Dean worked together to create a mosaic that will be featured in the hospital. The design was shared across the schools and workshops held to create the finished piece, with Five Acres High School art academy students creating the trees that can be seen at the top of the mosaic.

Year 10 student Millie and Year 9 student Holly joined students from local primary and secondary schools on Friday and had the opportunity to speak to the Princess Royal, who carried out the official opening. Princess Anne remarked that she really liked the seasonal depiction of the trees featured in the design.

Well done to all the students who were involved in the project.
