Emily Davey appointed as Headteacher for John Madejski Academy

The Greenshaw Learning Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Emily Davey as the new Headteacher of John Madejski Academy in Reading, effective 1st September 2025.

Emily, an accomplished senior school leader, brings a wealth of experience in teaching, learning, and pastoral leadership. She is currently a senior school leader within GLT and has been seconded to support JMA since early 2025. Prior to this, she was Assistant Headteacher at Blaise High School, where she played a key role in improving educational outcomes and fostering a positive school culture.

Speaking about Emily’s appointment, Izzy Ambrose, Secondary Director of Greenshaw Learning Trust, said: "Emily is a highly skilled and dedicated leader who has already made a significant impact at JMA. Her commitment to high standards, student success, and staff development makes her the ideal person to lead the school into its next phase of improvement. We are excited to see the continued progress under her leadership."

Between now and September, Jonathan Heap, Headteacher, and Dean Ackland, Head of School, will continue to lead JMA, working closely with Emily to ensure a smooth transition and maintain the school’s momentum of sustained improvement.
