Rainbow Admissions

The fundamental principals of our approach are:

  • Having comprehensive knowledge, understanding and experience of working with children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
  • A thorough understanding of each individual's needs and planning a curriculum to meet these.
  • A multi-disciplinary approach where all parties, including parents, work together to plan and deliver meaningful learning experiences

The Rainbow Department is part of Green Wrythe Primary School.

Rainbow Department is an opportunity base for primary aged children on the autistic spectrum who meet the local education authority's admissions criteria.

Opened in 2007, Rainbow has places for up to 54 children who are mostly Sutton residents. The children work in groups of up to eight children. The classes are named after the colours of the Rainbow.

The philosophy of Rainbow is one of building and maintaining relationships with children based on a thorough understanding of their individual needs.
